CELANOVA, A STROLL BY THE HISTORY OF GALICIA:

Celanova counts on supply differential only as much in context of province of Ourense like in rest of Galicia, which for some years it has been trying to put itself in value of joint form and that must be presented through a global museístico project that tries to promote the possibility of knowing the moments most important the history of Galicia, that is to say, the Castrexo World, the Discharge and the Low Average Age, the splendor of the Baroque one in the Galicia of the Modern Age, until arriving at the contemporary world with the Rexurdimento of Galician Literature), all it through a geographic triangle formed by Castromao-Vilanova-Celanova with small derivations also geographic and historical as they are the Petroglifos and the Roman Bridge of Freixo, as well as the medieval villa of Milmanda.
It is necessary to emphasize that, with these threads, it is very easy to weave an informative network destined to that if somebody decides to visit Celanova, will have the opportunity to enjoy, in form of stroll - of there his denomination of the spaces that next is detailed and that they constitute places of first historical level, patrimonial and cultural within the set of the main moments that have marked the history of Galicia.

 

PRIMERA FASE

 

 

In summary, it will be as if, when visiting these places, of some form the visitor can obtain a global idea of which it was the history of Galicia from prehistory, that is to say, from the culture castreña, to practically our days, with the Rexurdimento of Galician Literature through so emblematic and essential personages for our letters like Curros Enríquez or Celso Emilio Ferreiro.
Each one of the historical moments account with an own expositivo space and is susceptible to be transferred to the network, with the opportunity, in addition, to include a series of cultural activities that help to enrich and to maintain the cultural project alive.

 

FASE 2

 

 

The objective of this work is, therefore, the one to initially study the historical-architectonic evolution of the Monastery of San Rosendo, (or what is the same, the three phases of its architectonic development from the first set of constructions and the construction of the first medieval church along with the chapel of San Miguel, to the present building, passing by an intermediate monastery of style Romanesque) to explain how this historical evolution has affected with time the sprouting and later development of the urban helmet of Celanova until forming the present villa that we know.
